Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

From our P&C President

It truly is an exciting time to be part of the Coomealla High School community. There have been many recent upgrades to the school including the update of the many classroom interiors with new paint and furniture. Recently, a major upgrade of the external landscaping occurred, with many more plans underway. The teachers and leadership team continue to work tirelessly to give every opportunity to students to participate and achieve in myriad activities, whether it be sporting, academic or vocational. Many of these projects and activities are supported and endorsed by the school’s P&C committee.

The P&C’s major endeavour however, is the canteen. Anna Hansen does a wonderful job providing our students with delicious and healthy food and drink options, as well as catering for many of the school events and special activities. She also gives students the opportunity to work in the canteen to gain skills and an experience that they can add to their resume or apply to their out of school employment.

I am very pleased to say that parent and community involvement at Coomealla High School is very much valued and encouraged by the supportive staff at Coomealla. The P&C committee meet monthly to discuss the educational opportunities available to students and to give feedback about current offerings to the school’s representatives. It is a welcoming and inclusive team and we would love to invite any parents or community members to join us or to reach out to us so that we can share your thoughts, ideas or suggestions to help make your child’s time at Coomealla High School an even more rewarding experience for them.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
